At CiderHill Farm our turkeys are hand raised, on free range, in small flocks. We take great care to ensure the health and happiness of our birds from the day they arrive as just hatched chicks to the the day we take them in for processing. Unlike traditionally raised turkeys, our turkey buttons are encouraged to run, forage, build muscle, and participate in instinctual flock social structures. Our fledgling orchard doubles as a turkey pasture, and its 2/3 of an acre of grass and clover offers plenty of opportunities for dust bathing, napping in the sun, foraging, and exercise.
The end result of all of this fresh air, exercise, and natural turkey behavior is a bird of unparalleled quality that you can feel good about putting on your Thanksgiving table. Our flock isn't force fed GMO corn to make them plump unnaturally, we never feed medication unnecessarily to encourage growth, and all pasture is pesticide and herbicide free. We allow our turkeys to grow slowly, run free, and enjoy being turkeys, which means you get juicy, tender meat with well defined muscle that tastes the way turkey is meant to taste.
We believe that you should be able to connect your food to a time, a place, and a philosophy. At CiderHill Farm our philosophy is simple; we treat your food with as much respect as we would treat you. We encourage you to follow the growth of your turkey through our Facebook page, or better yet, by coming out to the farm to see the difference that love and care make for yourself.
